How it works For Partners FAQ Review & Earn Join the waitlist

Get paid for the meal you're already making.

Sear sends you smart glasses + gloves. Cook the meal you'd cook anyway, upload with one tap, your kitchen teaches tomorrow's home robots to cook.

The whole idea

You cook. We pay you. Robots learn.

Home robots can't learn to cook from the internet — they need to see real hands in real kitchens. That footage barely exists. So we pay the people already making it: you.

Get paid

Our system checks and grades each clip automatically. Every accepted cook earns you real value, paid through the app.

So… what's the catch?

There isn't one. That's the point.

We don't ask you to buy anything, learn anything, or change a thing. You cook what you were going to cook. The glasses film your hands and your food — never your face. You approve every upload before it leaves your phone. You're only paid for cooks that pass our quality check — which is exactly why the whole thing works.

What it's worth

Real value for meals you'd make anyway.

Every accepted cook counts. Longer sessions and trickier dishes count for more — a from-scratch lasagna is worth more than toast. The harder the recipe, the more a robot learns from it, and the more it's worth to you.

Every accepted cook carries real value, credited through the Sear app.

Privacy, by design

Your kitchen. Your footage. Your call.

Privacy isn't a setting — it's the whole design.

  • The glasses frame your hands and food, not your face.
  • Personal details are blurred automatically.
  • Nothing uploads until you approve it.
  • Your footage is never made public or used for ads.
Why it matters

The hardest thing to teach a robot is how to cook.

Chopping, stirring, kneading, knowing the exact moment dough is ready — it's second nature to you and almost impossible for a machine. The world has only a sliver of the real-kitchen footage robots need to learn it. Every meal you log helps close that gap.

What will you cook?

Any dish counts. Every one teaches something.

Questions

The short answers.

How does Sear work?
Apply, and we ship you a pair of smart glasses + gloves for free. Cook any meal you like, glance at the clip, and upload it with one tap. Accepted cooks carry real value, credited through the Sear app.
What do the glasses actually record?
Your hands, your food, and your kitchen — never your face. Personal details are blurred automatically, and nothing leaves your phone until you approve it.
Do the glasses really cost nothing?
Yes. We ship them free and they stay free. You just complete a one-time KYC with a government-approved ID, and whenever you decide to stop, you return the assets — the glasses + gloves.
What am I allowed to cook?
Anything you'd normally make — breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Everyday meals count, and more involved dishes are worth more because they teach a robot more.
How is a cook valued?
Every accepted cook carries real value, credited through the Sear app. Longer sessions and trickier recipes are worth more — the harder the dish, the more useful it is.
Where is Sear available?
We're opening market by market. Join the waitlist and we'll let you know the moment your city opens and your glasses are on the way.
Who sees the footage?
We work privately with robotics teams building home robots. Your footage is never made public, never sold on an open marketplace, and never used for ads.
Is my privacy protected?
Privacy is the whole design: it's your kitchen and your footage, your face is never filmed, personal details are blurred, and you approve every single upload.
